Craft in Color
This exhibition features works in clay, glass, and metal by artists of color drawn from RAM’s collection. While most of this work is not directly issue-oriented, the fact that the makers themselves—as artists of color—have experienced a wide range of implicit and explicit biases is a sub-context worthy of consideration. Seen through that lens, the story these objects tell is even more complex.

Printing on Clay & Paper Workshop
At Central College in Pella, Iowa, I’ll be demonstrating to students how to print on clay and paper with screens and relief blocks. I’ll also demonstrate how to put images into the screens and how to carve the relief blocks.
Solo Exhibition
This solo Exhibition of my work has 17 clay prints, 3 clay heads and 2 stone sculptures on display in Mills Gallery at Central College, Pella Iowa.
The clay prints are visual narratives as mythologized philosophy, symbology and stories. The characters and scenes work independently, but also inform each other by giving additional context to discover the world where they all exist.
My sculptural works bring my musings, allegories or philosophical ideas into the real world as three-dimensional forms to physically interact with the viewer. Moving around a sculpture to investigate its surface and form creates a unique mode of engagement. The viewer and the sculpture have an active space between them that needs to be negotiated, navigated and shared.
Inspired: Victor Spinski
Victor Spinski was my Professor, mentor and dear friend. This exhibition includes works of some of his former students and I’m thrilled to have one of my pieces in the exhibition.
