This Solo Exhibition of my work has 17 clay prints, 3 clay heads and 2 stone sculptures on display in Mills Gallery at Central College, Pella Iowa.
The clay prints are visual narratives as mythologized philosophy, symbology and stories. The characters and scenes work independently, but also inform each other by giving additional context to discover the world where they all exist.
My sculptural works bring my musings, allegories or philosophical ideas into the real world as three-dimensional forms to physically interact with the viewer. Moving around a sculpture to investigate its surface and form creates a unique mode of engagement. The viewer and the sculpture have an active space between them that needs to be negotiated, navigated and shared.
